So according to the ever pessimistic Russians, we’re all gonna die in the year 2036. See, this 900-foot-long asteroid, epically named ‘99942 Apophis’, is apparently headed towards our measly little planet. NASA doesn’t agree, but don’t you worry, even if things go pear, they’ve got a plan.
‘99942 Apophis’ has made headlines before, with scientists discovering the massive rock in 2004, and as a result, keeping tabs on it ever since.
Anyway, after the recent Russian report, NASA ran the numbers and revealed that, in their eyes, the likelihood of a collision is only 1-in-250,000. And even if it does take a literal turn for the worst, they’ve got a plan. Basically, the entire third act of Armageddon, obviously without that annoying Aerosmith song. No, really, I kid you not.
So unfortunately that means you’re gonna have to postpone those apocalyptic themed raves and orgies. Bummer.
