Call me old-fashioned but when I go camping I like to have a few useful items on my person. It’s not that I don’t like the challenge of the great outdoors, it’s just that there are better things to worry about than trying to use an animal’s innards to increase my core body temperature.
Of course if you ask Bear Grylls that’s half the fun of the wild, testing yourself (and your ability to drink your own urine) against mother nature. He does have a few tricks up his sleeve, one of the more popular being the Bear Grylls Pocket Tool and Sharpener (R449, down 25%).
The Pocket Tool is a modern interpretation of the traditional, minimal multi-tool. The basic components – large fine-edge blade, bottle opener, Phillips head driver and small and medium flat driver are housed within a tough rubberised handle, perfect for gripping in the elements, with or without gloves on.
The Sharpener fits easily in your pocket, and the two rod shaped diamond-coated sharpeners allow you to sharpen the serrated sections of your knife.
Go on, channel your inner Bear and head into the great outdoors. Just make sure you take plenty of liquids along, no one wants to be that guy…
