Being a South African police officer is a pretty thankless task, our force generally underfunded and undermanned to deal with the high crime rates.
The same is true in Cape Town, although some cops still manage to go above and beyond the call of duty to serve their communities.
One such man is Sandile Sololo, a Sergeant in the Cape Town Metro Police. EWN have dubbed him the city’s toughest cop, and if you watch that video below he certainly comes across as fearless in the face of great danger.
Good work Sandile, in a city that reported 1 520 homicides last year it takes real guts to patrol the streets and lay down the law.
