I think we’re all adult enough to know that these pre-fight press conferences are all for show, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth a look.
Take for example UFC’s Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, set for a rematch this weekend in Las Vegas at UFC 202. You knew there would be some name-calling, and it looks there is a genuine dislike between the two fighters.
Rolling Stone reports:
…it descended into full-blown chaos as McGregor, Diaz and members of Diaz’s Skrap Pack started chucking bottles at each other in a room filled with media and fight fans.
As you can see, things go from a few flipped birds to McGregor and Diaz’s crew totally ignoring the fact that they’re throwing things into a crowd of what sounds like really freaked out innocent bystanders. There’s a ton of shouting, and McGregor cocking back and throwing like he’s launching a ball from a MLB outfield.
Fans of UFC will hope this much-hyped fight isn’t a real letdown, a la Manny and Floyd.
