Although only in its third year, the Tiger’s Milk Winter Classic has already made its name as one of the coolest surf competitions in Cape Town.
Having invited longboarders, surfers and Stand Up Paddlers, this weekend will see all three board-riding categories compete for the number one spot at Surfers Corner in Muizenberg.
And get this: for a second year in a row, the multi-discipline surf riding event will present a World Surf League Longboard Specialty Event for Men and Women, making it the only WSL Longboard event to be held in South Africa and Africa.
Oooh, lala.
Here’s some more info:
Muizenberg attracts longboarders of all ages and so this discipline is the major focus at this year’s three day contest. One of the most well supported groups is the Over 40 Longboard division and the new additions to the event, the Under 23 Men’s and Women’s, not far behind.
Pretty sweet.
To not miss out, make sure you get down to Muizies this Friday for the kick off.
If you just want to witness the fitness, pop into Tiger’s Milk on Sunday for a ‘daymare’ where prize giving will see finalists of the nine divisions win close to R50 000 in prize money and over R36 000 in prizes.
Booyachacha.
You can check out all the winners from last year here under last year’s archives.
