Sometimes all you can do is laugh, but South Africa is going to be feeling the ramifications of Eskom’s ongoing failure for generations to come.
It’s been called “the terrorist attack from within”, for good reason, and we’re now at the stage where we pass around load shedding tips like it’s normal.
The Daily Maverick’s ‘Politically Aweh’ team decided to unpack the Eskom mess in their latest video. Please note that they spell ‘aweh’ with the ‘h’, which is my preferred spelling, although the debate rages on.

Why is there load shedding again in 2019 after President Jacob Zuma told us we’d never have it again back in 2016? And what is all this about Eskom being R420-billion in debt, and needing R69-billion to keep the lights on? How did we get here, how will it affect South Africans and what can be done about it?
