Behold the inspirational power of a double dip recession! Except this is actually awesome. Gregory Kloehn has built a luxury home in an American dumpster complete with granite counters, a toilet and hardwood floors. The ‘home’ will make its debut at the 2011 San Francisco Fringe Festival, which runs September 7-18.
The only shit thing is that there’s no shower, but who needs a shower when you live in a dumpster anyway, right?
This project isn’t his first, Gregory is a master craftsman, having transformed offices and homes from shipping containers as well. Kloehn says he was inspired by a shipping container project he was working on:
“I would look over the fence at a dumpster and think that it looked like a little house.”
