Look, there’s really not much to go on here.
All we know, via Sky News, is that a small aircraft pilot survived an emergency landing in the sea, and it was captured on video.
The crash landing took place in Tombo, Brazil, and the pilot deserves credit for bringing the malfunctioning plane down without things really getting ugly.
Firstly, he lands it in the sea, which is a good move.
Secondly, according to our resident pilot, Seth Rotherham (it’s true – exhibits A, B, and C), the key is that as the pilot loses speed, he keeps pulling back to climb until, at the final point, the plane stalls.
It then ‘falls out of the sky’ with no more lift on the wings.
Voila, you’ve landed a plane and survived to tell the story.
(Neither Seth nor 2OV accepts any liability should you follow this advice and fail to successfully crash land. That’s on you, pal.)
Enough waffling, so let’s see the crash landing:
Plonk into the water – well played.
If that video doesn’t work, watch it on Sky News here.
Here’s the aftermath of the crash – not quite as exciting:
One thing we can note is that there are many Speedos, and many bikini bottoms, that leave little to the imagination.
What a rush.
