Galliano Found Guilty Of Racism – Following Drunk Racial Slur

Racial slurs seem to be all the rage at the moment, as we see a famous racial trial overseas, reaching finality. Ex-Dior designer, John Galliano, has been found guilty of racism, following remarks he made in a bar.

According to the Guardian:

The British designer John Galliano has been given a suspended fine of €6,000 (£5,200) by a Paris court for racist and antisemitic rants at people in a Paris bar.

The former couturier was found guilty of “public insults” based on origin, religion, race or ethnicity after two incidents in February 2011 and last year.

One of his excuses he used, along with pressure at work, was that he was drunk. It seems that argument didn’t hold.

It is interesting to note that local radio/TV man, Darren Scott resigned from his job (story here) as host of Jacaranda FM morning show. This, after he admitted to calling someone the K-word. Supporters of Darren Scott claim that he was drunk at the time and is therefore not guilty of racism.
