MUGABE’S FIRST INTERVIEW WITH WESTERN MEDIA IN 5 YEARS

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe says many white farm owners occupied the land illegally and “historically have a debt.”

Enjoy this CNN interview and keep an eye on anchor, Christiane Amanpour, as she literally shakes with anger.

I don’t know why people get so upset about Robert Mugabe. It’s a chemical imbalance in his brain. He genuinely doesn’t know any better. Either get rid of him, or chill out. But please, don’t for one second think you’re going to change him.

    [thanks minaar]

Hoo-Boy – What is worrying is that we seem to hear the same rhetoric coming from the mouths of tomorrows leaders here in SA.
Hope were not on the well trodden path African economic failures.

The question has to be asked, if someone agreed to pay (Lancaster House Agreement) for something they took without asking “colonized”, what recourse did bob have in the deal? Land reform was raised in the lancaster house agreement, and was a serious sticking point, but the UK agreed to finance the sale of assets (farms, mines ect) to Zimbabwean natives, the money never arrived as promised and the shit hit the fan. While I don’t condone what happened, don’t think the UK is telling the whole story on this one.

What Mugabe and the Zanu (PF) apologists don’t tell you is that the British Government did in fact give the Zimbabwe Government £42 million pounds to pay for farms. Guess what? The money disappeared. Now there’s a surprise. Mugabe and his cohorts stole the lot and when John Major saw what happened, he refused to hand over any more. The Brits kept their side of the bargain and Zanu (PF) miscalculated thinking the Brits would hand over more

This makes me shake with anger too – so Ms. Amanpour and I are in agreement on that.

The Lancaster Agreement is a case not to neglect. An I do know that it was not honoured by Britain the way it would have to be. So easy to point at others…
