New Amazon Ad Pokes Fun At iPad [VIDEO]
In the battle for king of the ebook readers, Apple has been fighting pretty hard. iBooks for the iPad is a beautiful piece of software, there’s no denying it. Apple’s only real competition comes from Amazon, with it’s range of Kindle products. These have all been revamped recently – with a new ad to go with it. Full vid after the jump.
Having recently come on sale in South Africa, it will be exciting to see what happens when the first shipments of the Kindle Fire finally arrive on our shores. Everyone I know that reads on an iPad already has the Kindle app, seeing as the iBookStore is not available in SA. Seeing as a lot of Amazon’s programming department is based in Cape Town, the future could be very interesting to watch.

I can’t believe some people are seriously considering reading on an iPad.
Maybe if you just read a little bit here and there it could work, but for people that really read it’s not an option. Any e-ink device is so far superior to a backlit tablet that I find it hard to believe there is any kind of debate at all.

Ha Ha Simon, you can say that again. Some of the fanboys make the religious fanatics look moderate.
I don’t have anything against Apple (cough .. liar…. cough) But the fact is that reading on a backlit screen is no way to enjoy a book.
