The reported ‘exorcism’ happened after Pentecostal Mass on Sunday in St Peter’s Square when Pope Francis took to praying for a young man who was in a wheel chair. Footage has been provided by the Roman Catholic TV channel, TV 2000. The channel made comment after gathering a panel of clergy to examine the footage, concluding it was in fact an exorcism.
Exorcists who have seen the footage have no doubt – this was a prayer for liberation from Evil, an actual exorcism.
The footage also displays the young man’s mouth dropping and convulsing when the Pope had placed his hands on his head. A spokesperson said:
He didn’t intend to perform any exorcism but, as he often does for the sick or suffering, he simply intended to pray for someone.
Father Gabriele Amorth was also convinced of the incident despite the Vatican’s reluctance to accept it. Father Amorth is the head of the International Association of Exorcists and claims to have been “possessed by four demons.”
The Pope is also the Bishop of Rome, and like any bishop he is also an exorcist…It was a real exorcism. If the Vatican has denied this, it shows that they understand nothing.
Another, Rev. Giulio Maspero is also of the opinion that Pope Francis performed an exorcism, or either a prayer to “liberate” the young man’s soul. Rev Maspero also confirmed that the Pope’s position of his hands on the young man’s head was the “typical position” when performing an exorcism.
The Holy Spirit is connected to the exorcism because … it is the manifestation of how God is present among us and in our world. We live in an age in which God has been forgotten. And wherever God is not present, the Devil reigns.
