This story is like something that happens only in movies. A four year old is swept away from her family in a natural disaster, gets rescued and is reunited with her parents a decade later. Unreal…
Jannah and her seven-year-old brother were carried off when huge waves struck their home in West Aceh district on December 26, 2004.
Jamaliah, 42, and her husband survived the quake-triggered tsunami that killed tens of thousands in Aceh, on western Sumatra island, and had long ago given up hope of finding either of their children alive.
Jannah had been raised by the elderly mother of the fisherman who rescued here all those years ago. She has now moved back to live with her parents.
What a feel-good Friday story.
