When it comes to chicken advertising people love to rave about Nando’s, but time and time again Chicken Licken produce the goods.
We’re not talking about their food, because that’s a story for another day, but the fast food outlet’s latest TV spot is well worth a chuckle.
They’ve just rolled out the Double Chick’n Boerie Burger, and to promote that comes ‘Icelandic Boy’.
Before we discuss any details, here’s the ad:
I quite like that effort.
More details below from Media Update:
Teaming up with director Alan Irvin from They Shoot Films, and Icelandic production house, Truenorth, Joe Public United created a commercial filmed in Iceland with an Icelandic and a South African cast…
“It’s always an exciting challenge to think of the next execution for our client, Chicken Licken. This time, we really wanted to do something unexpected for an unexpected product – Double Chick’n BoerieTMBurger. Key to what we wanted to portray is the fact that South Africans, no matter where we are in the world, can recognise one another and have a common connection,” concludes Xolisa Dyeshana, chief creative officer, Joe Public United.
Still, my all-time favourite might be the ‘Inner Peace’ advert:
