Bosses can be real dicks sometimes, refusing to give you the time off you need to attend your kid’s prize-giving at school, or when you just need some “personal time” to recover from that mid-week hangover. A man from the US has just hatched a great plan – by sending his local newspaper an obituary of his still-living in mother, you know, to prove to work that he was entitled to the time off.
The only problem with obituaries though, is that people tend to read them. So when you’re reading your newspaper in bed, and see that your friend, who you saw only yesterday is now dead, you might be a little shocked. You might also see it as being appropriate to call the family to offer your condolences. Finally, you might be very surprised to hear that same dead person answering the phone.
So, not only is this guy now in shit for not actually having a legitimate reason to bunk work, but has earned himself a lifetime of “Hey, remember that time you faked my death so that you could get time off?” reminders from his mom.
Idiot.
