A driver in the UK has been jailed after trying to run a group of pedestrians over “like skittles.” The group of people had apparently “been mocking him” as he drew up at a junction. So he did what any sane person would do in such a situation by turning his car into an 80km/h motorised battering ram. The pedestrians were literally saved by a lamppost as they darted for cover.
The incident took place at the end of last year, and was caught on CCTV. The driver, Dominic Ali, turned himself in after he saw the footage of the attack on BBC TV’s Six O’Clock News. But whether or not this was out of choice, no one can say for certain. See, it turns out the car actually belongs to his girlfriend! Ali claimed a passer-by had tried to punch him through the driver’s side window whilst he was picking up a friend from a “gentleman’s club” and he took revenge on the “spur of the moment.”
He was jailed for eight months after he admitted dangerous driving, and is also disqualified from driving for two years. Here is the CCTV footage, aired on national television in Britain after the incident:
It seems road rage is all the rage right now. Remember last week’s violent altercation between a biker and motorist in Brazil? And last month there was also the shocking footage of a South African taxi driver attacking a pedestrian.
