Something like this has definitely happened before – in The Hangover.
So, according to Business Insider, a man was found four months ago… unconscious… in a Southern California motel. Not such a crazy story? Except for the fact than when the man awoke, he could only speak Swedish and didn’t remember a thing about his past.
The man of the hour is Michael Boatwright, but according to The Desert Sun, he goes by Johan Ek since the incident. The 61-year-old was found in a motel room in Palm Springs in February and after being transported to the Desert Regional Medical Center, woke up with no recollection of who he was.
It was reported that Boatwright/Ek had a duffel bag of exercise clothing, a backpack and tennis racket, as well as the standard forms of identification when he was found. As a result of this, hospital officials said that he might have been in town for the Coachella Valley tennis tournament.
The man has now been diagnosed with Transient Global Amnesia, (a rare medical condition that can last for several months), and is still in the center as thorough searches for his next of kin have proved unsuccessful so far.
