If gym isn’t the thing for you, then maybe you need to move to Dubai.
According to Emirates 24/7, Dubai is testing the incentive theory. Will people lose weight, if they have something to gain…that isn’t fat? The city is offering, wait for it…two grams of solid gold, if they drop a casual two kilograms in 30 days.
The competition appropriately named “Your Weight In Gold,” which is billed by the city’s government, is apparently a way to promote healthy living and sports popularity.
This is how it works: Once you have achieved losing the two kilograms, you are then guaranteed to earn one gram of gold for every additional kilogram. What? Think about it, a gram of gold today is worth about R440, which means you can earn just under a grand for dropping two kilograms!
There’s no limit to how much gold you can earn, but doctors recommend losing about 1,8 to 3,6 kilograms per month to stay healthy. At that rate, you could pocket $180 – $360.
