We’ll say it until we’re blue in the face. The integration of technology and home life is revolutionising the blue collar service market. Remember when the world used to be hard? Our days used to be one long list of unpleasant tasks that we couldn’t escape, or automate. Not so, anymore my pedigree chum.

For example, if you’ve been waiting for your local security company to release a mobile app that would allow you to monitor, arm, and bypass your home via your smartphone no matter where you are in the world, then fire them. These other guys have that issue waxed.

Companies like The Alarm Guy allow you to activate and deactivate alarms, control your house’s lighting remotely, and keep track of your surveillance cameras all from your smartphone. Thats right, these guys actually link your mobile device to your alarm system, allowing you the full functionality of an alarm keypad on your smart phone or tablet. All they do is set you up with the IP150 internet module from PARADOX, and you have to do is download the iParadox app from the app store or the android market place.

Tres sexual, non? They can also – and do – offer CCTV feeds live to your smartphone, and a feature called Access Control, where you grant or deny access to specific parts of your home from any location, via your smartphone.

Which means you’ll never have to trust anyone with the alarm code to your house, ever again.

If we’ve said it one, we’ll say it a million times. Technology is flipping the blue collar industry on its heads. White-collar guys are coming up with innovative, technologically-driven solutions to tasks that used to be hard and messy. By allowing technology to infiltrate these industries, these everyday tasks are becoming easy and efficient.

    Get on board.
