Living up to your namesake must be quite a difficult task, especially if you share the name: Amelia Earheart.
A young girl, who really does have the same exact first and last name as the famous aviator, has decided to do her inspiration proud by becoming the youngest woman to fly a single-engine airplane around the world.
Amelia 2.0’s trip will take just over two weeks and will cover 14 countries.
The plane I’m flying … is really safe and reliable, so there aren’t any fears on that front. I’ve got all my flight charts and weather tracking on my iPad mini… so all’s good there, too.
The only thing that possibly scares me is not living up to the legacy of the original Amelia, but I’m trying my best!
Safe arrival in Oakland… thrilled to be just hours away from departing on the 24,300 NM voyage! #flywithamelia pic.twitter.com/TSdtzeX78q
