I’m sure on more than a few occasions the long-suffering partners of football lovers out there have wished for some act of God to end their suffering. Be it rain, snow or sleet, just make it stop right?
Well this football match in Iraq came to a premature end for rather more disturbing reasons after a mortar round exploded behind one of the goals. The explosion is then followed by a rally of gunshots as the players flee to safety.
Here’s hoping these guys get a few extra dinars as danger pay. Maybe Manchester United’s Falcao can donate some of his reported £300 000 per week earnings to players who actually make it onto the pitch.
