Trevor Noah Responds To Backlash

Trevor Noah (AKA T-No) has hit it big time with his appointment to The Late Show. South Africans can be proud. Rest of the world? Chill out a bit.

T-No has been getting a whole load of hater comments on Twitter since The Daily Show announcement on Monday. Trolls have gone back as far as 2010 to dig up the dirt (a few fat girl jokes and a few Jewish jokes and let’s face it – if you are offended by fat jokes then you are probably fat and should put down your pie and go for a run) and I just sit here and laugh at them all. Peeps need to chill.

Of course the new host, who takes over later in the year, had to have his say.

Well said, Trevor.

Noah had been accused of anti-Semitism and sexism after his followers began to retweet and comment on his old posts. Some had even called for him to be fired, while others defended him against accusations of racism, citing his mixed race background.

What’s even better than T-No sending out a tweet is the back up of Comedy Central itself. The Network said that, “like many comedians, Trevor Noah pushes boundaries; he is provocative and spares no one, himself included”.
