Why did the cyclist cross the road? Oh wait, he didn’t.

We’ve all sat at a red light and seen a cyclist zoom past and pay bugger all attention to the robots. We’ve also all accidentally driven through a red light (no, just me?) so we’re not throwing stones in glass houses. Anyway back to the video at hand, a clear illustration of the perils of thinking just because you’re on two wheels the rules of the road don’t apply. This from Metro:

Before you have a go at laughing at another person’s misfortune, this guy was fortunately okay. His pride was no doubt injured, but at least he got a lesson in respecting red lights.

There you go, now that we know he was OK let’s have a serious chat. Cyclists, spandex warriors, prawns, lend me your ears.

The rest of us road users want you to have your own lane as much as you do, and it sucks that people park where they do and force you into the road. But you know how you’re not helping? Single file, one in a row, obeying the rules the rest of us have to abide by – these are the ways you can endear yourself to your fellow road users.

Anyway we joke (mostly) and it’s a dangerous ride out there. That’s why we suggest taking up golf, far less people to piss off.
