‘Stomach in, chest out’ has come to be known as the SAPS code to live by these days, but it seems they forgot to add the third condition – eyes open.
These on-duty officers are in some hot water after police in Wierdabrug, Pretoria confirmed a disciplinary case has been opened against them. This from EWN:
Wierdabrug police have identified the members as two constables who were on duty on Saturday night.
Their investigation has found that the vehicle was standing idle outside the shop for 20 minutes, just after 4am when the pictures are believed to have been taken.
The disciplinary case will be dealt with by the police’s provincial office.
Now being a police officer in this country really must be a thankless task but we do expect more from our men and women in blue than snoozing on the job, even if it is 4AM.
Then again maybe we should just be thankful that they aren’t day drinking on the job. The SAPS, promoting the message of arrive alive and well rested.
