When you’ve been accidentally released from prison the usual course of action would be to lay low and avoid drawing attention to yourself. Unless you’re El Chapo, of course, but Ryan Byrne is more a convicted robber than an international drug kingpin.
Byrne was mistakenly released from Wandsworth Prison in London and has now taken to taunting police with photos of him enjoying life on the outside. Sky News reports:
One image is understood to show him standing in front of a police van and another one sees him enjoying a pint in a pub…
The 34-year-old was sentenced to a total of nine years’ imprisonment earlier this year for burglary, robbery and theft. A Prison Service spokeswoman said: “Releases in error are very rare but regrettable occurrences.
“We are investigating this incident. The recapture of this prisoner is now a matter for the police.”
It seems like Byrne and Pitbull share a striking resemblance – just think how much society would benefit if the both of them were to be locked up for a prolonged period.
