I have yet to come across a place that sells spiralled-potatoes in Cape Town. Generally a festival indulgence, the illusive stick treat is great as a delicious starter – and ideal for get-togethers and parties as they look tantalising, too: those crispy curves inviting you to crunch your way through a potato disguised as a gourmet satisfaction. Yum.

And they’re so easy to make, right at home, just in time for the shindigs that are about to rock the summer of ’15. Get your hands on a Spiral Potato Slicer for R229 Including Delivery (43% Off ) and you’ll have your guests amped on potatoes again.

    What you need to know:

    • Makes effortless spirals every time
    • Dimensions: 30cm (L) x 15cm (H)

If you’re not one for hosting elaborate parties, then just get one so you can be the talk of someone else’s party when you are required to take along snacks. A platter of twirly’s would do wonders for your cred. And if you need to transport them, easy as pie: Elemental Lifestyle Thermal Lunch Bag for R149 Including Delivery (25% Off).

(Okay, okay, I know it’s a lunch bag, but look how cute they are.)
