You would think by now that the South African fashion industry would know to steer clear of any Gavin Rajah “original” no matter how delightful. Well, nope.
It has come to light – praise social media – that yet another copyright scandal is brewing and this time involving Morgan Deane.
Apparently, Miss Deane asked the fashion designer to dress her for the annual L’Ormarins Queen’s plate. Believing what she was given was a Rajah original, she innocently tweeted to say thanks (the tweets have since been deleted).
However things got a little awkward when Gavin Rajah tweeted back, telling Deane the dress was actually a Three Floor Fashion original.
Conceptualised by the Three Floor Fashion team in 2013, the dress had not been authorised to be stocked by Rajah.
Well, Gavin Rajah, what did you really do this time? Sew your own label into the dress?
