What Exactly Does “Fenty” Mean? We Have Your Back

No one has more fun – and more influence – with fashion, fame and celebrity seduction than Rihanna.

The Barbados-born singer’s critically lauded fashion line, FENTY x PUMA, has allowed Rihanna to retain her title as one of the biggest popstars on the planet – and she has just released a teaser for the collaboration’s second season.

But before we get there, here’s where the FENTY part of that collab comes from – thanks to Vogue:

Like many who’ve come before her, Rihanna does not actually go by her given name. The 27-year-old Barbadian beauty was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Her middle name is Arabic and means “sweet basil.” With her family and close friends, she still goes by Robyn. “I get kind of numb to hearing Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna,” she has toldRolling Stone. “When I hear Robyn, I pay attention.” (Also: According to Rihanna’s Instagram, we may have been mispronouncing her stage name. Turns out, it’s Ri-Anna.)

Yup, it’s her surname.

Previewed last September at Paris Fashion Week, the coveted Spring-Summer 2017 FENTY x PUMA collection – a delectable mash-up of 18th Century French Rococo and Neo Classical flair with athletic street styling – will soon be within your grasp with new arrivals launching every month through to June.

Rihanna debuted the collection on her Instagram, no less:

All we can say is 🔥🔥🔥

Included in the collection are the highly anticipated Bow Slides, which will be available on the on March 9 at PUMA SELECT, Xtrend, Anatomy and Shelflife stores.

How divine:

So divine.
