  • Some Data To Consider In The Ongoing ‘Pizza For Breakfast’ Debate

It’s sad that pizza for breakfast is something people even debate, but here we are.

Go ahead, name any meal of the day, and I’m happy to eat pizza. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon treat, dinner, late-night snack, sleep eating – yes, pizza.

Across the office, the mood is pretty much the same, and there are few things in this world better at dealing with a hangover than multiple slices of leftover pizza.

Over in the US, according to Food & Wine Magazine, a survey conducted by a mobile pizza-ordering app revealed some interesting findings.

We shall begin with perhaps the most contentious pizza question of all…

With over 9,000 responses, pineapple was rejected by most people: 54 percent of those polled said the fruit shouldn’t even be considered a topping at all.

Sanity prevails. Even in Hawaii, for whom the pineapple-topped pizza is named, the results were only barely in favour.

I wonder how they would feel about The Rotherham?

Also included in the survey was a question on whether pizza is an acceptable breakfast replacement in place of more traditional grub:

A majority of those polled — 53 percent — said they preferred a cold slice of pizza at breakfast to their usual options like eggs and orange juice.

That might explain a fair deal about American waistlines.

Then again, dietitians have said that pizza is a healthier breakfast option than many kinds of cereals, and we won’t try and argue with that.

Given that it’s a Monday, and you might need some comfort food, here’s a handy tip. If you order two pizzas from Butler’s Pizza tonight, you get the third one completely free.

Should be plenty left over for brekkie, then.

If you’re not going to make use of that Monday deal, maybe one of these hits the spot:

Yes, heathens who eat pineapple on a pizza, those are also included in the deals.

    We still love you.
