The last time we checked in on Gwyneth Paltrow, she was publicly buying herself a vibrator for Christmas from her very own ‘lifestyle’ (read: pseudoscience bullshit) brand, Goop.

It’s stylised as ‘goop’, but we’re taking a stand here.

The vibrator ensured that Gwyneth was “ready for the holidays”. We know this because she told us in a festive Christmas advert.

Not one to stop at a simple TV ad, though, she’s now taking Goop advertising to new heights in what Mashable describes as “part-wellness dialogue, part Fear Factor for people with more money”. It’s a mini-series and she’s calling it The Goop Lab.

We’re apparently using the term ‘laboratory’ very loosely these days.

Before we check out the trailer, marvel at the poster:

Yes, that’s Gwyneth coming out of what looks like a giant vagina. Twitter is very upset about it:

    Odd, indeed.

Even odder is that The Goop Lab seems to be an elaborate plot to validate the company, which has garnered a fair amount of pushback over the years for promoting potentially dangerous ‘health practices’ like dubious claims about the benefits associated with jade eggs.

    Here’s Forbes:

The trailer suggests the show will be “leaning all the way into its reputation as a hub of kooky, 1-percenter experimentation,” according to Vanity Fair, and cover the more controversial topics Goop has been known and criticized for, like alternative medicines and psychic mediums.

    Take it all in:

    Netflix really will make anything.

Goop is currently valued at $250 million, which does nothing for my faith in humanity.

With the show coming to Netflix on January 24, that number is probably going to go up.

If misinformation in the interest of financial gain is your thing, then, by all means, cover yourself in stickers and drop a crystal in your water.

    I’ll be sticking to science.
