Graaff-Reinet is so hot right now.
Those are Seth’s words, so I Googled around to find out more.
Turns out the Karoo and its spectacular landscapes are very popular for game farms and the likes of Graaff-Reinet and Prince Albert “are well-established with lifestyle buyers”.
The Drostdy Hotel in Graaff-Reinet is booked out on weekends during high season and provides a great base for exploring the surrounding areas.
There you have it. So hot right now.
Great news for those who have dreamt of owning an airstrip, then, because a beauty (as far as airstrips go) just outside the popular town will soon go on auction.
This via Auction All, which says bids will start from R10 million (subject to confirmation) and the auction kicks off at midday on April 13:
This stunning airstrip is situated just outside one of South Africa’s tourist towns: Graaff-Reinet. This property features two runways, one consisting of flattened soil, and the other larger runway featuring a thick layer of black tar.
The runways are in pristine condition. This airstrip is already widely used by some of the country’s wealthiest people. You’ll definitely have a few customers/ connections seeking landing on this airstrip.
The features include:
- Three Large hangars
- Tarred roads leading to the Parking location and clubhouse
- Large parking space
- Fully functioning electric, water, and sewerage systems
- Eager, hardworking staff, set and determined to help all who land
- Space – there is enough space around this airstrip to build a town/ Estate
- The property is in mint condition, and is conveniently placed right next to the R61 leading directly info Graaff-Reinet
There is also an operational office building on the property which has a lounge area with a bar, a kitchen, and office space.
I found a number of images of the property on SA Farm Traders:
Congrats on buying your first airport.
Next up is a plane, a quarter-ownership of your own boat, and you’re really living the high life.
