Trevor began his career in comedy at 22 years old when he was dared by a friend to perform a routine at a nightclub.
Now, the Jozi boy is an internationally renowned comedian with two Primetime Emmy Awards and a newly minted Erasmus Prize.
The Saffa’s accolades don’t stop there. In 2017 and 2018, he was named one of “The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media” by The Hollywood Reporter and as one of Time Magazine’s hundred most influential people in the world in 2018.
Of course, where there is a big name, there is massive amounts of money.

It seems all those late nights are clearly paying off, as the comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and former television host is worth an estimated $100 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
That’s 1,8 billion humble South African rands. Nice one, Trevor.
Apart from his commercial success, the Mzansi man has earned his massive net worth in a few different ways, notes the Miami Herald.
After slowly gaining recognition, Trevor relocated to the United States where he soon became a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2014. One year later, Trevor was named host after Jon stepped down.
At that point, Trevor was taking home between $5 million to $8 million per season. His bank only grew from then:
Then, in 2017, the comedian signed a new deal with Viacom that doubled his salary to $16 million per season, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
In seven seasons of hosting the series, it is estimated Trevor earned more than $96 million.
Since the series ended, Trevor has earned millions in comedy tours across the world, and also launched the What Now? With Trevor Noah podcast on Spotify in November 2023. While the details of the deal have remained mum, we all know the streaming giant is happy to spend top dollars for A-list talent.
There’s also his autobiography, Born a Crime, which was authored in 2016 and sold more than 1 million copies since its release. The Hollywood Reporter reckons he made seven figures in regard to his book deal.
Oh, and there was also that rather controversial R33 million advert to promote South Africa as a tourist destination, which certainly added nicely to the oke’s already large net worth.
He deserves it, though.
