Robb Report Launches ‘The Vault’ – The World’s Rarest Shopping Experience

For regular readers of Robb Report, and those with a taste for the finer things in life, comes a shopping destination like no other.

It’s called The Vault and offers both objects and experiences the likes of which few people can imagine.

In collaboration with the best manufacturers and businesses in the luxury market, the idea was to develop and handpick an ever-evolving assortment of one-of-a-kind offerings that is as unique as it is pricey.

Paul Croughton, editor-in-chief of the publication recently invited readers to a first look inside The Vault, where dinner with one of the finest chefs in the world, a cocktail master class at the hippest bar in New York, a Parisian adventure and vintage chess set by Christofle, or even a rum and cigar experience in Nicaragua is just a click away.

Among the first items that caught our eye was the opportunity to design your own bespoke Pininfarina Battista Hypercar in tandem with Pininfarina’s chief design officer, Dave Amantea.

The 1,900 hp Pininfarina Battista is the Italian brand’s zero-emissions hypercar and will whisper you from a standstill to 100km/h in just 1.79 seconds, and then on to a top speed of 350km/h.

Once completed, you can road test your car on a three-day road trip through Italy alongside the company’s CEO before jetting off home with a signed, personally curated book of images of the adventure to take home with you. 

The price for this unique experience and product comes in at R60 million – which just about sums up the contents of the Vault.

There are of course several other products in their repertoire, so you needn’t be an Oppenheimer or Basson to afford such luxurious one-of-a-kind-nesses.

At R1.6 million, a more ‘reasonable’ experience might be the eight-day tour of Scotland, including historic castles, exclusive golf courses, superb fishing streams, and world-class whisky, with transfer between each in a private helicopter. You will also be treated to a private fitting at Scotland’s oldest bespoke tailor and an intimate voyage aboard a yacht once owned by HRH Queen Elizabeth II and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.

All of the offerings in the vault are limited – for instance, there is only one Battista Hypercar experience, and the Scottish holiday is limited to only 2 deals. With a time limit on the availability for all their experiences, the ‘deals’ truly are unique and once-in-a-lifetime.

Of course, these sorts of experiences are way beyond most people, and you can rant all you want at the ‘evil rich’, but you have to give it to Robb Report for having put together some truly interesting and unique offers. These aren’t Flight Centre specials or dinner for two at La Parada.
