Well, buckle up, Hollywood’s resident vampire-in-leather-pants, Jared Leto, is back in the headlines, and not for his method acting or questionable fashion choices.
A brand-new exposé just dropped, and it’s accusing the Requiem for a Dream star of something far darker than his usual eyeliner-clad weirdness: allegedly preying on underage girls for over a decade.
While it is true that this isn’t the first time Leto’s name has been dragged through the mud for this kind of thing – the New York Post clocked it way back in 2015, calling him out for “liking them young” – now, that line is ageing like milk.
Enter Airmail, a weekly newsletter cooked up by some heavy-hitters from the New York Times and Vanity Fair are the ones fanning the flames this time, dropping a piece that cites complaints from multiple young women. According to their reporting, Leto’s sketchy “interactions” allegedly kicked off when the girls were as young as 16, starting with him asking for their phone numbers.
From there, things apparently spiralled into “late-night phone calls and lurid emails with heavy sexual undertones.” So yeah, not exactly harmless fangirl stuff.
While Leto’s spokesperson slammed the New York Post’s article as “recycled tabloid fodder” that was “demonstrably false,” citing instances of the then-33-year-old with the likes of Ashley Olsen and Lindsay Lohan, who were both of age at that time, the same cannot be said for model Laura La Rue and eight other women Leto made advances at when they were still 16.
According to La Rue, she met Leto for the first time at an animal-rights benefit in Beverly Hills with an encounter straight out of a bad YA novel, minus the consent. Leto allegedly saw her from across the room and honed in on her like a heat-seeking missile after staring at her so hard that her mother noticed.
Eventually, he made his move. “He asked how old I was. I said, ‘I’m 16. How old are you?” La Rue recounted. He turned out to be 36 at the time, but that didn’t stop him from taking her number right in front of her mother.
The exchange resulted in regular correspondence and her visiting him at his home when she was in Los Angeles for work. “I remember him teasing me the whole time I was there,” La Rue recalled. “He was flirting with me. He’d lean in close, then pull away, like it was a game.”
Until one day, during a visit, he paraded in front of her completely naked. “I thought maybe this was just what adult men do,” Airmail quoted her saying.
Airmail’s exposé comes just a month after LA-based DJ and music producer Allie Teilz reposted a 2012 post that read:
“You’re not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat.”
“I was assaulted and traumatised by this creep when I was 17,” she was reported to have said in another post. “He knew my age and didn’t care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.”

But Leto’s sexual deviance doesn’t stop at underage girls, it snowballs into a full-blown circus of creep.
While talking to a reporter for E! Insider, the conversation took a turn into the realm of “what-the-actual-hell” when his infamous Suicide Squad gift-giving spree was mentioned. You know, the one where Leto thought it’d be cute to bless his castmates with dead animals and general biohazard-level chaos.
Among the blood-splattered party favours were a rat, some bullets, and a literal dead pig – but wait, the party didn’t stop there. Leto upped the ante with what he proudly described as “used condoms and other sexual memorabilia” for his co-stars, which included Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, and Joel Courtney. Charming, really.
The reporter, doing God’s work, asked the only reasonable follow-up: “Who did you send used condoms to?”
“Oh, everybody,” Leto confirmed.
Because, of course, he did. When Robbie was questioned about Leto’s behaviour, she said: “I got so many weird things, I can’t even begin to tell you.”
To most netizens, Leto getting outed was inevitable. One writer captured this sentiment when they wrote: “I can’t believe he’s made it this long without serious consequences.”
