Rodriguez is back on everyone’s mind since the brilliant documentary Searching for Sugar Man was released. We’re all stoked that he has just announced he will be performing two concerts in February next year.
Rodriguez’s first performance in South Africa was in 1998, and he has since played here four times. Everybody knows the artist’s albumn Cold Fact recorded in 1969 that went on to become a South African classic, but pretty much unknown in the US where it was first released.
Cold Fact was released here in 1971, and it has pretty much continued being popular ever since.
Earlier this year, the documentary Searching for Sugar Man was released, it chronicles the search for Rodriguez in the late 1990’s by two South Africans.
