Cue Humpty Dumpty jokes!
Feeling hungry? Well the largest egg in the world is up for auction in London next month. The oval is said to be over 120 times bigger than your average chicken egg – being 30cm high and 21cm wide. Dinosaurs would have struggled to lay this thing.
HAHA
If a dinosaur didn’t lay this then what did?
James Hyslop from Christies auction house said:
It was laid by a giant bird that lived on Madagascar. It went extinct somewhere around the 13th- to 17th century. The scientific name for it is the Aepyornis Maximus, but people commonly refer to it as the elephant bird.
If you are keen to get your hands on this egg, it will probably cost you over $45,000. For an old egg.
