We’re going to party like it’s 1979, or at least like United States President Barack Obama did. Obama’s High School friend, Kelli Allman, released these previously never before seen pictures of a 17-year-old Barack Obama at his high school prom. Obama, like millions of American teenagers, created memories at his senior prom.
The United States President, more fondly known as “Barry” back then, attended the Punahou School in Hawaii. Greg Orme, pictured in the photographs, was Obama’s best friend in high school. According to Allman, “they were like brothers.” In the photographs Obama can be seen with his date, Megan Hughes. Allman said:
It was a really fun, happy time. We were all cracking up, and everyone was smiling. It was pretty typical from there out as far as what happens at prom: the dinner and the dancing and the photos.
