Despite the happy emotions from the World Cup, a Singapore ad agency has released a new advert that deflates the euphoria of the massive football tournament.
Rallying against gambling and sports betting, the campaign shows the effects of gambling on the family, particularly the children.
The one ad prior to the final showed a boy (Andy) sitting and worrying what will happen, as his dad had bet heavily on Germany to win. While the ad was meant to install some fear in gamblers, Germany did actually win (presumably making Andy’s dad a lot of moolah), which kind of deters from the dread of the campaign.
The agency scrambled to follow up the ad, and their attempt:
“Your dad’s team won. Did you get your savings back?” asks Andy’s friend.
“No, dad never stops… He wants to bet one more time.”
