Grab your box of Kleenex, because things are about to get a bit emotional.
Raheela Abdool entered the 2014 season of Idols, and her audition did not go down very well. Randall ended her moment on telly by calling her “useless”, which, let’s face it, he, or anyone for that matter, had no right to say.
Cue Ard Matthews, South African musician and Just Jinger frontman. We have all grown up with his music and followed his success, and Ard thought that now was a good time to pay it forward.
Together with Sanlam, Ard got in touch with Raheela, and magic started to happen.
What has happened is we have given a person a chance to, well a second chance really, to prove to herself and to others that the word useless doesn’t really apply to anybody.
Have a watch – the first is Raheela’s story, and what Ard did for her.
Then, watch her very own music video.
I dare you not to cry.
