The archaic rules of the Miss South Africa Pageant are still in full play in 2014, with entrants not allowed to have any visible tattoos.
Sadly, three of the top 24 finalists were disqualified this week after organisers and sponsors noted that they had tats.
Kelly Davids is one of them, and she has a tiny, 5cm tattoo on the back of her neck, which can only be seen when her long hair is tied up.
Kelly hails from Cape Town – she is the owner of Milq and Honey, a spa near the Waterfront.

The organisers feel it’s very unfortunate that they had to lose three beautiful young women in this way.
