So the Super Bowl ended in dramatic fashion on Sunday (Monday our time) as the Patriots came from behind and beat the Seahawks in the final quarter. Of course this left many Americans somewhat miffed, and those that didn’t drown their sorrows in watery beer and unhealthy food took to Twitter to hurl abuse at Patriots quarterback and MVP Tom Brady.
Except some of the less adept (or fatter-fingered) users ended up misdirecting their abuse at a certain Tom Bradby, a political correspondent for ITV in the UK.
It wasn’t all bad news for the journalist, however, as some Brady fans also misdirected their praise.
After the abuse continued Bradby turned to tweeting the quarterback’s much-better half, Giselle Bündchen, hoping to deflect some of the abuse to its rightful owner.
I suppose being mistaken for the All-American hero Tom Brady isn’t the worst thing ever. It definitely beats getting mistaken for Wayne Rooney or Naas Botha.
