Since we posted this story earlier it has been confirmed that Ziyanda Tutu is being charged with malicious damage to property. Archbishop Desmond Tutu released this short statement, reported here on TimesLive:
“Police are conducting an investigation…We are naturally distressed and deeply saddened”…
The Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation said it “hopes and prays that the family will soon be able to put this incident behind it”.

Another day, another high profile South African family with more drama than the past seven years of Days of our Lives (actually, is that show still going?).
This time around it involves Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and his granddaughter, Ziyanda Tutu.
It is so far unclear what exactly is going on, but according to Ziyanda’s Twitter feed, she will be “handing herself over on Friday” because of an “undisclosed criminal charge” laid against her by her grandfather.
Woah! What is even going on here? Hopefully we find out later today. I mean, how crap a granddaughter do you have to be for your own family to do this to you?
