It’s no overstatement to say that the arrival of Uber in South Africa has changed things for the better for most of us. Being able to jump in a cab at a minute’s notice is a luxury I’ve come to take for granted, and actually, I struggle to remember what I did before I had the option of ‘Uber-ing’ (I feel the same about smartphones and Google Maps).
And whilst I’ve had plenty of friendly conversations with drivers about terrible traffic and glorious scenery, I’ve never really stopped to think how being an Uber Partner has affected their lives.
The truth is, there are some truly inspiring stories out there, and Uber has decided to pay tribute to the people behind them with their UberHeroes campaign.
Check out their impactful video to see some personal and heart-warming stories – and perhaps you’ll find there’s more to chat about the next time you jump in a cab. I know I will.
