Every theme park goers worst nightmare came true after a slingshot-style ride at France’s Luna Park suffered a snapped cable, terrifying both onlookers and those on the ride.
The ride, located in Cap D’Agde on the south coast of France, has been dubbed the ‘Fifth Element’ and will need a serious once-over before anyone hops back on board. Stuff reports:
A 24-year old woman broke her leg during the incident…
Her companion was miraculously left uninjured except for a few bruises…They were at the park celebrating a birthday.
The park has blamed the accident on a “manufacturing defect”.
Apparently it took rescuers an hour to get to the trapped birthday celebrators who, I’m guessing, would have needed a few shots post-rescue to settle their clearly frazzled nerves.
