The Oscar train just keeps on rolling…
This time it’s Oscar’s defence team stepping up to the plate, saying that the State’s bid to appeal the recent sentencing should be dismissed.
They are essentially arguing that to appeal the six-year sentence handed down is to insult the ruling of Judge Thokozile Matsipa, she of dolus eventualis fame.
The State’s appeal will still be heard next Friday, which means Gerrie ‘The Bulldog’ Nel will be chomping at the bit.

If the whole Oscar trial has taught us anything, perhaps it’s that the wheels of justice turn far slower than many had thought (and hoped).
