A group of kayakers got a bit of a bonus during their paddling trip off Sea Point.
The paddlers were part of a Kaskazi Kayak tour, a company offering trips along the Cape Town coastline, when a massive Southern Right Whale popped up next to one of the kayaks.
According to Cape Town Etc. whale season is still a few months away, so the kayakers were very lucky not only to see a whale, but to see one up close.
One of the people on the tour, Anneli Wagner, uploaded a video of the amazing experience on Facebook:
Locals have recently noted an oddly large number of whales in the Camps Bay and Sea Point areas.
Might be worth grabbing the binoculars and making a day of it on the balcony at Cafe Caprice.
