If you thought you started the weekend with a bang this past Friday, you ain’t got nothing on the residents of Sinoville, a suburb in Pretoria.
What is usually a quiet street saw some action when a helicopter crashed into the neighbourhood.
According to News24, the helicopter may have come from, or was headed to, Wonderboom Airport, which is not far from the crash site.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics found the chopper on its side in Marija Street, with three men found nearby.
“Fortunately, all three men escaped serious injury and declined transportation to a nearby hospital,” said Meiring.
Local authorities and fire services closed the road off for medics to assess the three men.
Locals on Twitter are not happy about it, especially because the helicopter narrowly missed a wall and house.
The cause of the accident is as of yet unknown.
At least everyone got out alive.
