As if heading back to work after what I hope was a relaxing holiday wasn’t bad enough, it’s going to be hot and muggy this week, folks.
According to Accuweather, Cape Town is looking at temperatures upwards of 27°. There will be cloud cover, so it’s going to be that clammy kind of heat.
Jozi can also expect temperatures in the high 20s, and Durban will be sweating it out in 30°C heat by Thursday.
Office hours mean that a beach day is out of the question, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t chill out at home, and nothing is more chill than a cannabis cocktail.
Eaze has taken that old favourite, a Mint Julep, and jazzed it up with everyone’s favourite herb.
Introducing the Ganja Julep.
Go ahead and switch out the mint in the picture above for some ganja leaves and it looks the part, too.
Add this to your shopping list:
- 4 Tablespoons of Apple Brandy
- 1 Tablespoon of simple syrup
- Unflavoured CBD Drops
- Fresh Mint
- Ice
Here’s a recipe for making simple syrup at home. It’s basically sugary water.
How to throw it all together:
- Pick off 6 mint leaves from the stem and drop them in a julep tin (use the bottom of a cocktail shaker or any metal cup if you don’t have a julep tin).
- Add the simple syrup and CBD drops and gently muddle together the leaves, syrup, and drops.
- Fill halfway with crushed ice, pour in apple brandy and stir.
- Add ice until there is a cone of ice above the rim of the tin.
- Grab 4 sprigs of fresh mint and gently slap them to release their oils, then stick the bouquet of mint into the ice. Let rest for a few minutes, serve with a straw.
And you’re done. I’m sure Tito Mboweni would approve.
Now sit back and enjoy, because work, as we like to say, is a sideline.
Enjoy the holiday.
