What better way to celebrate a Friday than with a reminder that we are world champions.
Day 210 of 1 449 in case you’re keeping count.
Earlier in the week, we enjoyed the always excellent Squidge Rugby’s analysis of how the Springboks bounced back from some extremely low points to become the 2019 Rugby World Cup champions.
Years of hard work, planning, outstanding leadership, and the twinkle toes of Cheslin Kolbe didn’t hurt, either.
Compilations have been made about Cheslin’s sidesteps alone, and for good reason, but to celebrate nearing the end of the week, let’s look at what Sky Sports says are “The BEST sidesteps in Rugby Union HISTORY”.
Their caps, not mine.
The good news is that it starts with a Bryan Habana classic, although that’s immediately followed by Shane Williams leaving Habana for dead in the second clip.
There is also a glorious Damian Willemse step to enjoy at the 5:45 mark, but Cheslin’s effort in the final doesn’t make it.
Sky Sports must still be hurting. Shame. 32-12.
