It was a normal Saturday evening in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, until dramatic screeching tires disturbed folks settling in for the night.
Some residents came rushing out to find out what had happened and saw that a car had rolled over onto their neighbour Ruan Fourie’s yard.
At the same time, Fourie’s security cameras managed to capture the whole scene on camera, which he later shared with the Middelburg Observer, reported The Citizen.
Fourie said that the three people in the car quickly flipped the car back over and drove off, before any further questioning from police or traffic officials.
Some of the other neighbours noted the condition of the driver and passengers and said that it seemed they were under the influence.
That would explain the difficult task of rolling a car on a straight road and also not wanting to waste any time before getting into trouble with officials.
Luckily, and perhaps the people in the car don’t realise just how fortunate they are, nobody was hurt in the rolling of this vehicle.
If it wasn’t booze, perhaps they hit a curb at a strange angle, or as Fourie mentioned to the Observer, the driver might have been attempting to drift, or maybe a passenger had pulled up the handbrake.
Fourie apparently shared the video with the hashtag #dontdrinkanddrive and mentioned something about his grass being fine.
Watch the ludicrous scene here:
Whether it was drinking and driving or not, the speed at which the car is travelling is also a real danger.
